It's actually never been harder. Go tell Rome that it's harder to build aquaducts than it is to conduct water quality testing consistently, maintain thousands of miles of pipes, etc. etc.

There's a reason Rome didn't have our current infrastructure. It's easier to build aquaducts than it is to make a modern sewer system.

it was way harder building hundreds of miles of aquaducts 2000 years ago with what they had than it is to build what we have with modern tech
