A 60% drop results in zero spread of the flu.

My god you guys are dumb. Viral spread is not a linear process.

The number of flu cases dropped by a discrete number. I predict that 60% of that drop was due to the masking, distancing, etc.

I have a VI-3500 in my residence, and ever since then I've never gotten sick.

I don't think the virus disappeared to the degree seen in the statistics. That isn't how viruses work by the probabilities.

When I get the flu, I don't go to the hospital, so it might also be worth considering those silent cases too.

Dude - the pandemic made everyone significantly more aware of germs, and more wary of being close to people - so naturally the flu cases go down because previously people really didn't think twice about touching public surfaces like a lift button or a door handle.

Logic mate, logic

99% is too much of a drop. It is not mathematically solvent.

Incorrect.

Please post the math that brought you to this conclusion, because I posted the math already that shows even a modest 30% reduction to flu spread results in over 90% reduction in cases.

That's exactly how viruses work on probabilities. If you cut flu spread by even 30% with masking and social distancing it is virtually eliminated. This isn't hard guys. Spread is exponential so even small reductions have massive impacts.

Covid wild spread was at least 2 before delta, now its even higher. The flu is a 2 on its best years.

Truly astounding how proud you are of being dumb.

LOL. Influenza has been around for a thousand years, and nobody has any accurate gauge on how many people get it each year, as there's no mass testing.

Everything from vaccines to quarantines to you name it have been attempted to "resolve" the flu, and every single one have failed.

Every year there are millions of confirmed cases of the flu resulting in hospitalizations, and have been for ages. On top of the confirmed cases, there're millions more where there's no confirmation, because there's no test.

This magical fairy world you live in where "masks and social distancing has cut down the flu" is nonsensical and stupid. Remove the Covid financial incentivization to hospitals and replace it with Influenza financial incentivization and the Flu will suddenly spring up millions of cases overnight.

Good to see you stopped even attempting to argue the science and are now just pushing conspiracies

You use the words "stopped" and "started" as if what we're seeing here is any different from his past post history...

It depends on the value of R.

The R value you predict is not possible.

R doesn't work arithmetically, n00b.

Yep, and people won't scam other people without good reason, hence whey there's never any scammer accusations. People won't falsely claim to be a minority for educational funding. People won't falsely claim injury to win a civil lawsuit.

People act in their own financial best interests. Right now, it's in the financial best interests of hospitals and pharmaceutical companies for covid to be everywhere, constant, and for vaccines not to be reliable long term without boosters.

It's also in the best power interests of politicians to treat Covid like airborne Ebola, when it's anything but. Covid is a simple cold or less to 99% of those who get it, just like the flu. And just like the flu, those with comorbidities are at high risk of complications up to and including death.

Wait for the mandate power to go away and the financial incentive to go away and covid will wane, flu will "come back", and then it'll just be a hurry up and wait for the next "world ending" cold to come along. :)

Don't need a "conspiracy". If there's financial incentive, people will take advantage of it. This has always been the case. There's no financial incentive in the flu, there is in Covid, so the Flu doesn't exist in quantity anymore. It's a simple thing.

What value did I predict that is impossible?
