You've spent the last few posts arguing under the assumption that bad things contradict a good God unless there's an infinite amount of good consequence to bring the balance in favor of good. I still don't agree with this, since if it cancels depends how you set up the equation.

An all good God is not compatible with an infinite punishment. The analogy to the parent fails because the parent isn't perfect.

then isnt the argument saying god can't be infallible fail anyways? god admitted fault in the transition from old to new testament. the base scripture doesnt hold that god is infallible, just above our judgement, but not his own.

I actually have a schizophrenic friend who believes he truly is Jesus.

That is sad.

Homosexuality is common in animals.

Thats a skinner response in response to pleasure combined with the randomness of phenotypes. They dont actually understand gender or lifestyle choices. Animals are purely responsive beings without a consciousness. It is the difference between us and all other animals.

If you aren't arguing a 3O god then there's no contradiction. The whole thing is you have to drop that assumption for the conversation to actually start.

God either can't stop suffering, doesn't want to stop suffering (is a dick), or doesn't know about the suffering. Pick at least one.

then i choose doesnt want to stop suffering, with an afterlife with a potential for redemption either in purgatory or hell.

doesnt seem to make him a dick at all. although i wont pretend it jives with scripture.

Still makes him a dick in my book. He could achieve the same effect with no suffering, so all suffering that exists is necessarily extraneous, and somebody who intentionally inflicts unneeded suffering is a dick.

but the concept of free will mean she doesnt inflict it, but rather allows it.

Pain and suffering is not merely allowed, it's absolutely necessitated. How many animals get literally eaten alive every day?

I remember one of my "awakening as a person" moments was when I was like 4 and saw a toad getting eaten by a snake. It was half in the snake's mouth getting swallowed and I'm like "do we help it?" and mom says no. Lotta thinking being 4 years old and seeing a living thing struggling while it gets engulfed.
