Gun control bills are being held to vote; best believe mass shootings are going to come back.

nice try but hate crimes require privilege and white or near white skin. so blacks cant do them. but Asians can because they have ivy league privilege and some even have white skin.

So is the argument that the recent spa shootings were not hate crimes?
that would about normal for the teamQ faction

You're just playing stupid for the sake of being on team stupid, but i will break it down.

Spanish Flu was that diseases name. It didn't have another real name while a large group of people who hated the Spanish called it something different and started attacking Spanish-Americans to make america great again.

You're fighting for a shitty world Bogie.

Are the MAGA-heads killing Asians? I must be really out of the loop.

Blaming random Asians for the Wuhan flu is ridiculous and heinous behavior. Not even Trump did that.

But being afraid to refer to the virus with respect to its place of origin, an origin which the Chinese might end up significantly to blame, is quintessential 2021 gaslighting.

The term isn't intrinsically racist but there are a lot of racists who use it in a demeaning manner instead of solely referring to where the virus came from - especially in this day and age with Trumpers.

Like wtf, am I the only person in this forum who would look like a complete autist if I were to call covid China virus among a group of people. You all live in Alabama? Or, it's just cool to be based in gaming forums?

Calling the Coronavirus the Chinavirus is racist and leading to attacks against Americans of asian descent across America. Defending this stuff only verifies that one is a racist piece of shit.

no it isn't racist. you don't know what "racism" means

that way of thinking is what leads to bullshit like this:

https://www.nationalreview.com/corner/increasingly-facts-are-considered-racist/?utm_source=recirc-desktop&utm_medium=homepage&utm_campaign=river&utm_content=featured-content-trending&utm_term=first

so we aren't allowed to state facts anymore? facts are simply facts... racism is a biased, warped point of view, but facts cannot be biased or warped. they are simply... facts. nothing more.

it is a FACT that the virus came from China

the Spanish flu did NOT come from Spain and yet it is called the Spanish flu. why? because at the time when the flu first began spreading, Spain was the only country to report it. so it "seemed" to come from there.

covid-19 should be called the Chinese virus, and rightfully so

you cannot blame this fact for leading to attacks on asians.. it is entirely these perpetrator's fault, not the fact itself

just like you cannot blame guns for mass shootings.. it is the gunman himself to blame

don't be stupid. please.

don't be stupid. please. you're completely missing the point. i agree there's nothing inherently wrong about naming a disease after the region it likely came from. however, it's not like "china / chinese virus / flu" was a name that the disease got "naturally". it's not like people were calling it that anyway. no, it was commonly known as "corona" or "covid(-19)" before conservatives tried to actively re-brand it, predictably leading to increased anti-asian sentiments, which is where bigotry comes in. it was a deliberate decision, an extra effort they made to stoke mistrust and division, as famously illustrated by this photo taken of a trump press conference, where the speech writer used the commonly used term, and trump (or stephen miller) "corrected" it to make it more divisive:
