I'm not sure why people engage with Bob anymore. The guy clearly isn't grounded in reality and never seems to have a command of the facts.
This is a very clear escalation which is why it warrants retaliation. The fact that we still don't know the entire scale of this attack and that it went unnoticed for months is pretty serious. One of the reasons we are hearing about it is because it was such a large attack. I agree that if it was minor, we wouldn't have heard about it. Anyway, it's NOT ignorant to retaliate because this ISN'T the status quo.
Nonsensical post.
Again, to bring a case in court, you need to prove injury. What is the injury from this alleged cyberattack? Clearly detail it. You're speaking of "retaliation" over... What? Further, that there was an attack at all is a claim made by FireEye and SolarWinds. Two private corporations. These corporations alleged attacks based on internal investigations, then notified the NSA of the alleged attacks. They alleged the culprits, including entities connected to the Russian, Chinese, and even Iranian governments. The NSA was completely unaware of any attacks prior to being notified. The only evidence that any attacks even occurred are allegations from FireEye and SolarWind. The only evidence on who's behind the alleged attacks are allegations from FireEye and SolarWind. And regarding "injury" from the alleged attacks? Nobody has offered any evidence of any injury whatsoever.
So, tell us specifically, what exact "retaliation" do you recommend?
