United States implements ranked choice voting

Republicans fracture into "Republicans", "Alt-Right", and "Trump" parties.

Democrats fracture into "Democrats", some join Green, and "Literally Communism".

some form of proportional voting would be fun in the states and probably appropriate to the values of the country imo

needs more 3rd party seats ffs

I don't think they'll go this route. It would be political annihilation. Given Trump's support among the Republican base, I don't think there's any support among the rank and file to go back to the days of fellating Koch / Adelson.

the gop is the stupid party for a reason

Trump and his new support he brought to the gop was the overwhelming reason of their gains and wins in 2016 and he managed to drag most of the party across the finish line in 2020. house might be almost split down the middle and worst case senate is split 50/50. far outside of polling projections and expectations which were calling for massive gains in the legislature for (D)s

but the gop will think they did it all themselves and revert back to status quo. just my prediction

I imagine that Trump will be a power broker for years. Republicans have realized that being a simp like Romney leads to poor electoral outcomes. Voters have zero faith in mainstream media, which is effectively the propaganda arm of the Democratic establishment.

if he does the rumored media conglomerate ('reconciles' with bannon, 'acquires' breitbart/newsmax/the blaze/oann etc., and picks off faux's primetime lineup) he could easily set himself (and his family later on) to be 'kingmaker'

I don’t think so man, I think GOP have established themselves quite well here. Despite losing WH they have done well in congress and WH race was much closer than anticipated. Somehow the GOP has turned into the working class party, at least this is the perception. I think if they continue to play to these strengths they will be very successful long term. The idea TX will turn perma blue I don’t really believe because that Latino vote is not a guaranteed blue vote anymore. Especially with Pelosi seeking speaker re-election, she is one of the most despised figures in US politics imo. I think GOP truthfully has more going for themselves than Dems have going for them. Don’t forget the majority of Biden voters were just anti Trump voters, myself included. It’s not that his policies that got people
To vote but really SOMETHING that trump did in his time that made people philosophically committed. For ex for me it was corona rhetoric.

I think Dems 2024 are in trouble unless they do magic this term. Let’s see

Saying "Charlotte has entered the chat" as if to portray a minor faction in the public discourse as indicative of the broader conversation.

Supposedly, Trump's minority vote constituted like 26% of his total take, the highest percentage by a Republican since 1960. If the trend continues, maybe we'll see if LBJ will be proven wrong.

they won't though. their comfort zone is being the opposition party and the war party. only Trump was able to not do that for 4 years, and look how much it pissed off the gop establishment

yeah how ironic its the 'rich privileged white people in the suburbs' that seemed to have turned the tide in this election. remember they were not racist for voting obama (black), racist for voting trump (orange), and now not racist again for voting biden (white)

Wouldn’t be so sure, don’t underestimate emperor Mitch palpatine, he’s a smart ruthless guy. Trump definitely has started the populist trend and if they branch off that work they will do really well. If the GOP knows one thing, they know how to win.

It really is a shame he couldn’t reign in his emotions and be a unifying leader because he had a lot of potential. He just needed to throw a couple olive branches and in times of true strife to act the class.

Keep the same values and find a new respected head and GOP looking good. 2022 midterms will be huge.

Basically the options are:
Embrace the Mexican vote and win
Keep old ideals and lose

If history is any indicator , we know which path GOP will choose vs. the Dems who will be stubborn to the grave
