I'm kind of baffled why you think boycotts due to politics in this case is so hard to believe. This is isn't really a new phenomena, i feel like we've seen a lot of this kind of stuff over the last few years with southern states, with certain companies like chick-fil-A, etc.
well who they support has a correlation so high with boycotts it borders on causation. so that's why.
i dont find it hard to believe they exist, i find it hard to believe they're the leading factor in the decline of sports viewership is all. my gripe is not with people claiming they exist, its with people claiming its a massive effect that's going to bankrupt sports leagues or have an effect so strong it causes a pendulum swing. boycotts are for action afterall.
