Worrying. I've not heard much about the protests but I imagine anyone who watches Fox sees the stuff all the time.

Yep, I've been keeping my eye on MN. It hasn't gotten much polling but there are some worrying signals. People don't like excessive use of force but if the enforcement is turned down just a bit, people are going to turn their ire on the protestors/rioters. I think the administration finally found a sweet spot.

On a scale of 1 to Tony Montana, how high on cocaine was Don Jr?

The issue is whether these concerns motivate voters to come out for Trump. It makes no sense that the guy presiding over these riots is going to be the one to stop them in the future. In fact, it's reasonable to conclude that a Trump re-election just makes the matter worse.... a Biden election lowers the temperature. But the average, mostly uninformed voter might have different ideas.

What a crazy ass world we live in. Im wondering how long its going to be before normal citizens decide they have had enough and start taking out all these thugs en masse. Won't be so fun when you have to try fucking with people who fight back.

Normal people don't respond to terrorism by saying that we're in the wrong for offending the terrorists. Trump isn't getting the blame for riots carried out by the far-left, and its not going to make people more likely to vote for democrats to appease the violent mobs.

The lefty cities are crying anytime Trump tries to come in and clean up the riots. The blame falls squarely on the cities.

I don't know that it's helpful or accurate to label race riots "terrorism". They've happened before. There's often legitimate grievances motivating the illegitimate action. It's just a fact that Trump is now president and these riots are happening. They continue to happen while he campaigns on the issue, as if it's a reason to re-elect him. Trump has been a racially divisive president... he's doubled down on it since the George Floyd incident. "Double down on a president who makes racist appeals more than any other in recent memory in order to bring the country together" is a hot take even you wouldn't dare to make.

It's not about appeasing a mob, it's just a matter of fact for those concerned with these riots. A Biden presidency would lower the temperature. He would work harder to address the legitimate concerns that some of these protesters have, and his rhetoric wouldn't be dismissive or inflammatory.

All that said, it's just inevitable that these sort of protests and riots are going to happen after black people are killed by police. Who sits in the Oval Office is only relevant to some extent.
