This. DC has been a D+9000 district for decades, all those Washington operatives and government employees lean heavily Democratic. Now that they're increasingly spilling over into Northern Virginia, I really dont see where the Republican votes to counter-balance are supposed to come from.

Even if the GOP turns back to Romney- or W.Bush style messaging after Trump, the Dems will still stay the party of big government for the forseeable future. As will the people living in the Virginia-based sprawl of the DC metro, and with them, the entire state.

cucumbers are indeed gross unless in pickle form or Gatorade (lime cucumber flavor is 10/10).

Cucumber tastes like nothing, and that offends me. It wastes my time when I eat it.

You also have a lot of tech and industry moving there as well. VA is a lost cause. The only legitimate hope for the GOP is if they can win a decisive majority of suburbanites.

Celery is absolutely necessary as a base flavor. Try making a good soup or cajun without celery. Can't be done.

Meanwhile cucumber is just a trash food that shouldn't exist.
