But for real: even if Senate Republicans were willing to ram a nomination through at the last minute, perhaps even during the lame duck session, it would still take quite some time to get it through. Like... if RBG has to step down in say late October, I'm not sure that Republicans would actually be able to get her successor confirmed until inauguration day.
