I can't believe this topic made it to 60 some posts.

Goom nailed it in post 5. There is absolutely no legit reason for anyone to force someone to sleep with them... w/e their equipment.

/e Or... deride them for not wanting to sleep with whomever.

how does an 8 year old give informed consent?

Your strength of opinion is mismatched with your lack of reading up on the topic. Puberty blockers, if prescribed, are done so often in adherence with the Endocrine Society's recommendation of time-of-prescription being Tanner Stage II development.

Someone who is 8-years-old hasn't come close to Tanner II development, except in rare cases of early onset puberty, which is altogether a far removed and separate medical concern from gender dysphoria.

Lupron can and does have side-effects, but this is no different than any other medication. An informed consent model has people weight the benefits and risks just like anything else in this case.

True but giving an 8-9~ year old girl Lupron to prevent precocious puberty which has almost no medical side effects just because kids are mean and she might get bullied and will affect her self-esteem is a tad too drastic to me. Then these girls grow up and have medical bills to pay in the U.S. because their skeletal system is compromised in several ways of differing severity.

The sad fact is that, being women living in a sexist society, they still end up having ( sometimes crippling ) self-esteem issues anyway. Really well equipped for success.

Precocious puberty and the use of Lupron =/= gender dysphoria and the use of Lupron.

Terf existence is as much justified than the glory hole side of LGBTQ.

There's also these moderate feminists who reject medicated men in chick clothes for the simple reason it destroys 'women's image, objectifying them' and 'women are more than that'

Thus I don't especially like lesbians I think the moderated position is valid, well, at least as much as these gays pushing for mutilating children bodies at early stages. Too early.

I am aware. I think this popped in my mind because radfems are one of the groups who are highly critical of the practice. It seems, to me at least, that compared to Lupron's usage with trans children, the upside is just not there with precocious puberty. I was trying to talk about Lupron more broadly and ask your opinion on this particular thing.

I'm not well-versed in the use of Lupron outside of its relation to trans youth.

I know they do 9 or 10 year olds for gender identity-based blocking, whether its coupled with early onset puberty or not. But there's been some unclear info on whether the CHLA has administered blockers to an 8 year old or not- I've seen reporting from both CBS and the Heritage Foundation claiming they are, and rando blog posts claiming its fake news, or just splitting hairs over what type of treatment and condition. If it was just one far-right or left-wing source I'd have been more skeptical, but getting both made me think its legit.

If its not, so what. I don't think any of that distinction matters. Whether its 8, 9 or 10 year olds, there's no ability to give informed consent.
