There are a lot of American expats living in China, which is the exact opposite of what you mention. Shanghai is full of Americans. Counterexample. That is how easy it is to discredit an anecdotal argument like that.

They usually don't move there because oppression under capitalism, in fact they move there for the money much of the time. Them moving there is not a rejection of capitalism, while many people moving from communist places move here because they see the economic disparity between communism and capitalism as well as the freedom.
