Yeah the autists at 4chan just have access to public information. They once managed to identify the location of someone based on the movement of the sun in their window, flight paths of airplanes and bird patterns.
Tech companies on the other hand, aren't so restricted
To doxx the guy who uploaded the Pelosi video and find out he was some black forklift driver from NYC, Facebook simply told journalists his private information. No need for fancy methods
Anonymity isn't an illusion though. Its nearly impossible to identify antifa members who simply wear black clothes and masks in public. That's why reasonable states already have laws forbidding klan hoods in public, but oregon doesn't. And even if 4chan can identify them, it provides """reasonable""" doubt that sympathetic prosecutors and judges can cite to let someone off, even if their identity was obvious.
