i agree whole heartedly that sharing global knowledge is a great thing. but i also think nations should have as much autonomy over their own capitals as they can. A capital, or just most famous city even, is a thing of pride for any nation. to have it's most beautiful stretch designed by an outsider would put a poor taste in my mouth. imagine if the Washington Monument was designed by a Frenchmen. we'd never hear the end of it.
