oh for sure, and if the big outlets stopped the money would largely disappear. it would be translated into twitter retweets or reddit posts made by normal people. some prominent twitter handles would rise out of the ashes, and some no-rule news subreddits, which would spawn money. but its all silly to even think about, the 1st amendment is going to be just as untouchable as the 2nd has proven to be.
It has nothing to do with the 1st Amendment though. It's not about a prohibition against notoriety or anything that is 'enforced', but instead about conscientious reporting that many media outlets already do with respect to suicide, or how Anderson Cooper's Orlando shooting was done. It also comes from consumer-demand as opposed to anything law related.
