How much is the fine anyway? I don't recall. I've seen $1000 and $5000 thrown around. Gotta be $1000. Still though. Considering my total yearly premiums will total over $3000 (and this is just health, not including dental, vision, etc.), I'm starting to wonder if it's better to just take the fucking $1000 fine. But, then the realist in me understands I could end up in some car accident that I could have no control over.

"The annual fee for not having insurance in 2016 is $695 per adult and $347.50 per child (up to $2,085 for a family), or it's 2.5% of your household income above the tax return filing threshold for your filing status – whichever is greater."

It's almost like another form of taxation. Except now they're taxing you for simply existing.

some legal adults are also dependents and issues such as money do not apply to them - no need to be overly critical towards these lucky souls :)

No wonder why Wall Street and big pharma are supporting democrats. Thank you Obama for forcefully increasing the market for our products by millions of people.

Now top proponents are saying that the only way to make Obamacare work better is to increase the penalty, thus further burdening the poor person that can't even afford a bronze plan.

I wonder if there's any collated research done on the profit margins of the medical industry pre vs post Obamacare. I'm sure they aren't complaining business is booming.
