...and next you'll tell me about shark attacks and falling pop machines .
Well there are rational things to be fearful of and then there are irrational things to be fearful of.. your fear of Islamic terrorism is of an irrational level. It appears to not only go beyond the actual level of danger Islamic terrorism presents, but extends into being fearful Muslims entirely

In America
the other hemisphere is a different situation. You can argue it was catalyzed by western interference, but that's ultimately besides the point. At present it is a growing threat. What do you do about it now? A non interventional approach is looking increasingly bleak with how Europe is coping. If they didn't have the infrastructure to accept refugees in mass with an open border approach, they shouldn't have. Foresight is a commodity too hard to find these days.
First off, Europe does not have an open border policy with middle eastern countries, they have an open border policy with other European nations, the same way that American states have open borders with one another. Also, Europe is not taking the bulk of the refugees, Turkey Lebanon, and Jordan are. These three countries have taken in more refugees than all of Europe combined
Now getting to the greater part of your post, you are correct to say terrorism is a bigger threat in other regions of the world, ultimately these terrorist organizations are not so much a threat to the US as they are the unstable regions of Iraq, Syria, and Libya. The main priority should be creating stability in these areas so they can defend themselves, because quite frankly they cannot rely on foreign power to defend them forever.
