Taxpayers will pick up the tab for the lost birds. To incentivize farmers to quickly report and stomp out the virus, a USDA program pays producers for the eggs and poultry they cull.

Short and skinny? Supply dropped because of yet another bird flu. And the prices the government pays for companies to destroy their chickens AND their little eggs too, guaranteeing straight profit, are higher than $5/dozen, once you figure in the lack of added expense in processing, shipping, etc.

Nothing to do with Trump. Although RFK will definitely need to take a look at the whole "We'll pay you to cull your flock" angle, and see if that's being abused specifically to drive prices up and production down.

Yeah we’ve had so many avian flu cases hitting plants in the last 5-6 years it’s nuts.

You're talking to the wrong guy. My analysis over egg prices specifically has not changed whatsoever. Many markets were severely negatively impacted by Biden-era policies. The policies around bird flu actions hasn't changed. Egg prices skyrocketed at a couple different points during Trump's last term as well.

As I said, outside of investigating USDA payouts for culling of flocks, and examining whether maybe they're forcing farmers to kill entire flocks over 1 single bird, what else would you suggest to fix the problem?

Realistically, the only policies I'm aware of that the Biden Administration pushed that negatively impacted egg OR chicken prices would have been in relation to oil drilling and pipelines driving up transportation costs. And if that were the ONLY effect, it would have simply taken eggs from a dollar a dozen to two dollars a dozen. No big deal.

Apples and Oranges. Biden’s prices got bad multiple years into his presidency not a few days into it. Avian flu wasn’t his fault either though.

can anyone imaging the REEEEEEEing?

Quote
The 22nd Amendment to the United States Constitution currently prohibits a president from serving more than two terms. But one United States congressman is trying to change that.

Congressman Andy Ogles has proposed an amendment to the Constitution of the United States that would allow a President – including newly-elected cultural sensation Donald Trump – to be elected for up to but no more than three terms.

I think in the manner in which his ability to serve two terms was disrupted he should be able to run a third time. It should be changed to “Two consecutive or 3 Non-Consecutive”.

absolutely unnecessary. this would be like telling my wife it will take me 1 hour to rotate her tires, then half hour in she asks me to put the baby to sleep, and i tell her on my way back out i'll need an hour.

every president gets 8 years to steer the country in the direction they think is best, then they choose a successor. trump can endorse vance or whomever else he thinks can steer the ship once he's done in 2028.

The difference is statistically half your term is spent fighting things the previous president put into action. So if you are going to use an analogy like this at least say it’s not your biological kid but the one your wife had with her brother or something and the car is her lover’s.

This goes for no matter who the candidate is you spend half your time adjusting previous things done. That’s why I’d honestly rather just make it one term and guaranteed 8. Red, Blue or purple.
