If they wanted to change this lot then at the very least the Azov brigade should've been officially disbanded and the members could've been quietly dispersed / absorbed into other army units.

They didn't and for obvious reasons, these ultra nationalist units still attract young Ukrainians who feel like going toe to toe with the Russians unlike regular Ukrainians that are being drafted against their will.

The US had laws in place to prevent the arming of these ultra nationalist brigades and for obvious reasons. All of this has been discussed here before by the way.

Ofc they don't like him: he managed to get elected with the assistance of an oligarch but seems he didn't have much the choice, with the war the situation is very different.
