so.... the motte-and-bailey fallacy?
I wouldn't even say that, but it's entirely up to interpretation. Defund the police WOULD take funds and provide them to other social programs, and I think the only way you could interpret it as m&b would be if you had an absolutist take on the phrase and did no research on what the movement is about as a whole. Hell I could say "To Protect and Serve" is a m&b despite SCOTUS cases proving otherwise

Have you ever broken down the math to what % of police interactions end up in objectively tragic mistakes? Clearly you have not. I will never quit reminding rational people that these videos are going past the sixth decimal, and that is assuming every single one occurred in the United States within the same calendar year. I am giving you an extreme amount of leeway with the numbers skewing towards your point, and it is still absurd.
This isn’t a debate. You are literally telling me “All Cops Are Bastards” doesn’t mean all cops. This has, as usual, been an incredibly stupid exchange.
I genuinely challenge you to bring me the % of interactions per year leading to these sort of mistakes.
Can you show me your data points that show it goes past the sixth decimal? Genuinely curious where you're getting your information from since you keep mentioning that number.
It doesn't mean we're insulting all cops on a personal level. It's stating the system they operate under is bastardized in the literal sense as they are not obligated to protect & serve despite that being the common consensus.
If you looked up the movement you'd see the general consensus of it
