As long as you understand how truly lopsided the numbers are

Do you have any statistics to back up this claim that the numbers are lopsided? Also note that child abuse is a category of crime with a notoriously high dark figure. Like... we're probably catching some 70-80% of all murders that occur, but we're definitely registring far less than even half of the child sex crimes. (Quite a depressing thought actually...)


Twenty-five years ago, the notion that child abuse is rampant in the Catholic church would have been emphatically rejected, today, it's accepted as a fact. Back then, there was strong institutional and also political/ideological resistance against any efforts to uncover the true extent of the issue. Now, which group is the current flavor of the month, which group is increasingly catered to by our cultural institutions? Uncovering which group's sex crimes would really deal a heavy blow on the dominant ideology of today, the one which is increasingly embraced the media, academia, the entertainment industry, even by corporate America?

My personal guess is that at the end of the day, both groups, priests (particularly Catholic ones) and trans people alike, contain an above average share of child abusers. In the case of priests because celibacy goes against human nature and circumstances of the profession are such that children happen to be the most easy outlet for their repressed sexuality. In the case of trans people, because confusion about one's own gender and sexuality make it more likely to breed sexually deviant behavior. (A bit similar in principle to how it's well-established in the literature that adolescents with strong sadistic tendencies have an increased risk of growing up to become mass murderers.)





But just for the record: I do not believe that pedophilia is rampant among the trans community, the problem is downplayed by progressives/lefties and blown wildly out of proportion by conservatives. Nor is it the main reason for my personal rejection of most (not: all) of the demands of the trans movement. I reject these demands due to their illiberal nature, because trans activists try to force the rest of society to affirm their delusions and afford protections and privileges (e.g. for women) based on factually wrong premises.

All you've done is exposed the flaw in the system. If they did not use the Church to fulfill their desires then they would have targeted another organization. It can take years to build the trust but that's how they work right? Gain a reputable position and then do what they came to do. All part of the cunning plan they have.

If not the Church then they would have chosen a different target. The problem isn't the Church itself, the system in place is flawed.

Did you also look up how often this happens in Schools? If you did and you found this many articles would you also have said that School is a cancer on progress and teachers molest and groom children?
