Charges were dropped by DOJ. But of course people remember the initial headlines and not the actual resolution and findings of the investigation.

Pretty much the primary reason why we've seen so many of these of cases in the last number of years. You can completely destroy someone's reputation leveling accusations that have 0 merit. Media jumps over it, person gets muck racked and it doesn't matter if months later it's found the charge was completely phony, because vast majority of people made up their mind about someone based on the initial headline.
