Since Joe continues to claim he wasn't involved at all, and never met Hunter's associates, and wasn't present when the message was sent (note- would he really be able to know that with certainty, if it wasn't true? How can he know Hunter didn't send it when next to him, without telling him, if he knew 'nothing' about the dealings?) then the only way forward for Biden is to say Hunter Biden was shaking down the Chinese and Ukrainians and Romanians for bribe money at his own initiative, exploiting his father's name.

And yet, taking it from the perspective of 'Joenethor, Steward of Gondor', it makes a lot more sense. Is it so hard to believe that after Beau's death, Joe would be willing to bend his morals and integrity to support his living son? Whether it was Hunter Biden's idea to peddle influence for money, or Joe set it up for him, either way, all the witness testimony and evidence supports the claim that Joe was most definitely in on it and profiting directly from it.

grieving father sends crackhead son to pilfer money from china is still a big sell. hunter is still a crackhead who has caused a lot of interfamily drama for the bidens. he's not just the "living son", he's a crackhead who if the reports are true has been inappropriate with joe's daughter in law AND grand daughter. no one could look at him, imo, grieving or not and see anything other than a colossal disappointment that you wouldn't trust with a 20 dollar bill.
