The concept of Tucker being fired "will fix Fox News" is misleading, as it suggests that Tucker is what is wrong with Fox News. He is not. There are two aspects to the answer to your question.

1. Basically, to my mind, it looks like they asked/told Tucker to go and he is the sacrifice they had to make to get out of jail free re: the Court case. Therefore Tucker being fired will not fix Fox News (as thats not the intention) but rather resolves the current problem.

2. To address your question, will someone worse replace him? I dont know what that means. Tucker Carlson is charismatic, charming, engaging, and alot of people like watching and listening to him. Therefore if and when he is replaced he will be replaced by whomever Fox News deem capable. I dont know your definition of "worse" or by what metric you rate broadcasters.

Fox News styles itself as entertainment but is in fact a self generating News/Narrative Channel which caters to the audience it has generated. It is not hard to promote/groom someone that is in the media, pro-republican, to report and promote a narrative. What IS hard to do is to replace someone that is as charming as Tucker Carlson is and retain the audience that Tucker had generated.
