How very compelling it would have been if Obama had followed up by saying "I don't think you should trust Flynn because he's secretly doing that stuff you asked him to do, and we know about it because we're spying on you"

Obama was secretly weaponizing the levers of government against his political rivals, Trump was secretly trying to calm international tensions.
This kind of palace intrigue has been so poisonous to our democracy and now we're slipping down the slopes on both sides of that issue, we've got Democrats trying desperately to wield their prosecutorial powers against Trump to stop him from being reelected and we're on the brink of thermonuclear war with Russia thanks to their anti-diplomacy.

That's a fair point. Obama warned Trump against appointing Mike Flynn, but the recommendation was based on the presumption that Trump would not want his incoming NSA to interfere in diplomacy before he took office. That presumption was wrong.

You just said, and let me quote you from one page ago:

And from Priestaps notes we have on paper:

They literally wrote down the fact that they were trying to set him up.
Getting every little detail of this storyline shouldn't be like pulling teeth

So we see that the FBI was concerned about an incoming NSA being an asset of the Russians, and therefore, they were concerned about his place in the new administration.

The interview basically confirmed their viewpoint. Flynn obviously lied to the FBI.

Obama knew that Trump was reaching out to Russia to try to calm the tensions Obama was trying to publicly enflame. Specifically that Flynn's job was to tell Russia that if they held off tit-for-tat retaliation for Obama's sanctions, Trump could try to rescind them once he's in office. Same story as Obama lifting the UN veto on condemning Israeli settlements, or making Bear Ears a monument, or whatever other flaming bags of poo Obama left in the oval office. Obama knew it because they were spying on Trump and he had the FBI head reporting it directly to him. Obama knew that Flynn was doing it at Trump's behest, as they were butting horns during the transition. If I knew it, Trump and Obama knew it. The man spent his last couple months in office trying to sabotage Trump's incoming administration and Trump was working behind the scenes to put out the fires Obama was busy lighting.

Not sure how you can look at that flap and think what Obama was doing was good for our country. He was sabotaging policies he believed in and had expected to keep in place when Hillary was elected. Hell, Obama was even elected on a platform trying to ameliorate tensions with Russia. He didn't go out and scream hatred for the Jews, but he spite-checked Israel before getting mated. Did we benefit as a country by having the FBI and DoJ spend years sticking their noses up Trump's ass?

What that note confirms is that the FBI explicitly set up the meeting for the purpose of trying to trap Flynn in a lie in order to prosecute him or get him fired.
We already knew that for years from even the most basic contextual awareness of the story, but the note makes it undeniable.
I get how you've probably denied that whenever we talked about this story before we had explicit proof, and I'd go out and say something like 'its transparent and obvious and might as well be dancing naked in front of us' and you'd say its not proven- but in this case we later got that actual proof

But he was not an asset of the Russians, nor was there any evidence that that was the case. Flynn reached out to his counterpart to let them know to hold off from any knee-jerk reactions to American policy, because a new administration (democratically elected by the American people) would be able to review those policies in the span of a few months time.

As we've been over a hundred times before, it's an issue of selectively applied justice. Hillary Clinton lied to the FBI about her illegal possession of classified documents on private servers. The FBI did not prosecute Hillary Clinton, and went out of their way to make sure that the email controversy posed no legal threat to her. The weaponization of prosecutorial / investigatory discretion is the most pernicious threat to democracy in the United States, right alongside the redefinition of "democracy" to mean "things which I like".

imagine for a moment that your 76 year old grand mother is questioned by police because they found child porn on her computer after she brought it into best buy to get repaired.

even a brain dead public defender could credibly argue that she's not personally tech saavy enough to answer questions in a literal sense about storage or hardware.

this was the case with the FBI and HRC, she was in the middle of an election (and before that in office) and in order to keep public opinion high she couldnt plead ignorance to any degree. they knew she could credibly and legally find a scapegoat for the tech issues of her storing/viewing "C" material on a non-sanctioned device. it never posed a real legal threat, but apparently has led to increased scrutiny around "C" materials, so that's good.

In what upside down world do the contents of this email match the bullshit you are claiming?

I'm going to re-up this post, because I think Goom's interpretation is conspiracy mongering, and I haven't heard from anyone else(besides the cult) what they think it was.

Honestly it's hilarious to read Trumpshill's characterization of the Oval Office conversation and the reality of it.

Obama opens that he's trying to be sure the team doesn't do anything improper, but if the incoming National Security Adviser is a Russian agent, DONT SHARE INFORMATION. They had intelligence information that Trump, or anybody else, did not have. So Obama was just doing due diligence.

Those officials did not ask Flynn to compromise himself... he did it willingly. Thus, he was scrutinized.

1. Dems paid for false documentation (Steele dossier), and bought the major media sources.
2. Dems used the false documentation to acquire FISA warrants... illegally.
3. Dems used those FISA warrants to illegally spy on the Republican nominee... et al.
4. Dems got just about every Dem judge in the land to allow idiotic suits against anything Trump tried to accomplish.
5. Dems used the information they got illegally, to harass, charge and convict any and all in the hope something would drop that they could use against Trump.
5. Dems also used this illegally gotten information to start the Russiagate investigation.
7. Dems then got Blasey_Ford to accuse Kavanaugh.
8. Dems paid protesters to disrupt the Kavanuagh hearings.
9. Dem Sen. Maria Chappelle-Nadal, went on Facebook and said: "I wish someone would assassinate Trump.
10. Dem Congress woman Waters in interviews called for other Dems to harass and assault Republicans, Republican politicians and white house staff, w/e they went out in public.
11. Dems, after Mueller came back with no conviction, started in on Ukrainegate.
12. Dems used falsified statements by whistle blower and then by State Dept. members, to go for an Impeachment.
13. Dems, after failing to get Trump ousted started blaming Trump for covid-19 response, even though it's been proven that the W.H.O withheld crucial information from not only the US, but from the World.
14. Dems, after failing to damage the President of the US enough, with that... are now adding fuel to the fire, to incite to riot.
15. Dems then, use the resulting chaos to try to trap Trump between a rock and a hard place... whether or not to use the military to put a stop to the rioting and damage.
16. Dems now, call out their hole card, Mattis, to add edges to the rock and the hard place they've set up.
17. Dem Nancy Pelosi: “I just don’t know why there aren’t uprisings all over the country, and maybe there will be.”
18. Dem Kamala Harris: “Protesters should not let up” and “They’re not gonna let up and they should not.”
19. Dem Ayanna Pressley: “There needs to be unrest in the streets.”
20. Dems waste tax payer's money a third time with Insurrectiongate.
21. Dems waste tax payers money on Trump's taxes investigation.

But yeah... Trump is the bad guy. LOL
