Correlation is indeed not causation, but smoking is highly associated with lung-related illnesses, a vast array of cardiovascular health problems, and death. The scientific research and statistics on this subject are quite robust.

Are you familiar with the concept of relative risk? There is a strong relationship between smoking and negative health outcomes such as lung cancer and emphysema.

Holy shit.

Smoking definitely causes emphysema...not so much lung cancer.

What? How does smoking cause emphysema but not lung cancer? Also, if smoking caused emphysema (your words), how does smoking not kill? Emphysema kills.

Also, your analogy of saying "Saying that smoking kills is akin to saying vaccines cause autism" is extremely faulty and a misunderstanding of the correlation-causation concept. Relative risk describes the strength of relationships in populations.

There IS an association between smoking and negative health outcomes (that lead to death), but there IS not association between vaccines and autism. Saying smoking kills is definitely not the same thing as saying vaccines cause autism.

Emphysema can't kill you. It just makes your life harder.

Emphysema most definitely decreases your life span. How much depends on the severity.

Care to explain why over 85% of people diagnosed with lung cancer are smokers then?

Yes it is you dumbass. COPD too. Jesus Christ you're watching too many cigarette commercials. Even if a study came that said they weren't linked it is a bad study and ten million more exist to contradict it.

Correlation != Causation

Saying that smoking kills is akin to saying vaccines cause autism.

ITT: Thundercock denies inductive reasoning.

During an interview with Fox News, Trump was asked about his upcoming intelligence briefing and whether he does “trust intelligence.”

“Not so much from the people that have been doing it for our country. Look what’s happened over the last ten years. Look what’s happened over the years. It’s been catastrophic,” he said in response. “And in fact, I won’t use some of the people that are sort of your standards, you know, just use them, use them, use them. Very easy to use them, but I won’t use them because they’ve made such bad decisions.”

doubling down on mistrust of all government and establishment is a losing strategy, but he will stay true to his core message.

we've all been focused on when Trump will pivot to a general message and leave behind the wingnuts, maybe he never planned to nor win. Maybe he just wanted to make more people hate the govt.

What do you expect from someone who says he knows ISIS better than the generals do? He's a complete retard.
