What is your explanation for the golden ratio in everything?

Nature finds a way. And the name is relevant, insofar as the golden ratio was discovered by the ancient Greeks, not Christians.

Like I said....nature finds a way.

I come from a military intelligence background.
We have a saying there.

Once is coincidence.
Twice is happenstance.
Third time is enemy action.

My point being, its prevalence is to encompassing to be disregarded as random events.
I see purpose.
I see provenance.
I see a guiding hand.

And that "guiding hand" is nature.

Keep in mind im Christian, but the golden ratio is nothing but evidence that things grow by the path of least resistance. water given time will cut it's way straight from a to z. an ever increasing gap spiral is no different.
