VAT is a very efficient form of taxation, but it's also one that disproportionately hurts the bottom ~40-70% of the population.

This touches on a big, general problem that most countries are faced with in this day and age: how can we raise taxes on corporations in a way that it eats into the profit margin of their shareholders rather than the purchasing power of their customers?

this is the complaint of every tax system. Even USA politicians who are proponents of VAT would make this complaint 5 minutes if it was instituted

industries and corporations are smarter than govt. They’ll figure out a way around it. flat tax or something like herman cain’s (may he RIP) 9-9-9 plan is a start but detractors call those “racist”

the alternative is to spend the current govt ‘revenue’ streams in a more efficient manner but we all know that wont happen. id be happy paying even more taxes if it meant we (USA citizens) got the benefits many european nations get from their higher tax rates. Here if you are middle class or higher you pay a decent chunk of taxes, get fuck-all in return, and lefties call you “racist rich people” for even mentioning this

no, you dont want to pay more taxes

that money just gets wasted on everyone and everything except your wellbeing, the middle class dude in europe also gets nothing but hatred and more illegals in return

except norway and denmark maybe, there is no place that even remotely justifies the price tag

the rise of remote work is a great opportunity for developing countries to attract professionals with low tax rates

What's important is the way taxes are used, you offer no solution, you spit in the soup, you bite the hand that made, feeds, and protects you and your ancesters.

This is an intellectual disaster.

Have you seen any of the reports on the dreadful living conditions in many nursing homes? Also, what makes you think that our pension and healthcare snowball systems will still be around by the time you and me retire?

eh fair enough

as for movements due to remote work agreed. we have seen it in the USA where people move from high-tax, expensive areas into lower or no state-tax states. unfortunately many of these only linear-thinking people just vote the same way they always have, which leads to tax-hungry politicians in different areas

Scaring tactics uselss against me.
I'm talking about americans considering moving to public healthcare countries when they age, better than selling house for ass cancer for sure.

People are fucking selfish, same person raging losing 40% of income while being 30, but shutting it up at 60 when hospitalized at high cost for almost free.

i feed myself as my ancestors have, always net contributors to society

you know what my solution is, fewer handouts, fewer state employees and politicians, no state money and benefits whatsoever for foreigners who are not net tax payers
