Something to remember about covid deaths is due to less travel, less interaction, etc the number of deaths due to other illness and accidents will almost certainly be lower, so the excess deaths compared to last year is still a low estimate. Its a floor, not a ceiling.
What about preventable illnesses/chronic conditions that weren't treated due to shutdowns and hospital restrictions? What about depression? I wouldn't say it's a floor or ceiling but it's probably a reasonable estimate.
