self defense is a thing. they're on the first count of murder still, the boy rapist who chased and attacked Kyle. which is a very standard self defense case legally. the 2nd killing, and other shot is far more problematic legally.

The defense hasn't had to do shit, all of the witnesses the state has pulled up have worked for the defense.
The defense hasn't had to object but only 3 times? On hearsay

Imagine getting paid to sit in court and let the prsecution make your case.

in the NYTimes report Gomer Pile was like "those people chasing after Kyle did the right thing, they thought he killed someone, he died a hero", referring to the second shooting.

2 takeaways:

1. clearly NYTimes didnt use his interview in their timeline of the first killing, where Gomer is very pro-Kyle per his in court testimony, all they used was a short clip of him stating he may have shot too.

2. in the second killing phase of the case Gomer may have a lot less pro-Kyle things to say when recalled.

This is why Rosenbaums death is the only one that matters in court here.
The rest of the homicide charges will be not guilty due to the snowball effect of them actually having weapons on them.
