Ripple is low compared to its peak, you could buy some of it. I'm not touching it.

I currently have BTC, ETH, XMR, MIOTA and last week got into VEN for funsies.

Sweet I'll get some of those, thanks.

Quick q, are there any fees when trading on Binance? I want to check before I make a bunch of tiny trades and end up broke lol.

The bubble will pop sometime, and my guess is soon.

I'm seriously so sick of hearing about Bitcoin already; its a fringe currency that stands no chance at getting worldwide adoption. Its this year's Pokemon Go (gets tons of attention on the internet but loses by runescape gold).

Voyagings post is legendary af

I mean, if you already have the equipment it is. I'm making between 3-5$/day, but I was ordering the equipment to play games and be productive on, not to mine. Mining is strictly a side-venture.

If I were to buy a system just to mine Monero or Bitcoin or whatever then the payback time on the hardware would be years.

The only way I can see this being profitable in any real sense is if you are mining a coin, and also selling back your used graphics cards for the same or higher price because of excessive demand.

Graphics cards being expensive is proof that mining is profitable?

Literally not at all how it works lol.

Your argument makes no sense. (if anything it suggests less profitability because the cost to produce a mining rig is higher)

People would still buy graphics cards to mine shit even if it wasn't profitable because people aren't rational.

Stores would undercut each other if that was even remotely true

The question is over what time period is it profitable?

The answer is you need to be in the game minimum of one year to make a profit on a system bought purely for mining.

Some people expect that they will still be able to turn a profit under those conditions. They might be right, the Monero I'm mining might be worth 10x what it is now in a year and so my current mining would be HUGELY profitable.

Short term it's not profitable though.

What?

Why would the profitability of cryptocurrency mining affect the pricing decisions of stores?
