Blaming Trump for any specific amount of deaths is suspect, but we can say that in virtually all cases he made the decision that was basically the opposite of what was suggested by the available evidence, and he showed basically no leadership during the entire debacle.

He showed a lack of leadership, that in my opinion.

The "available evidence" is controversial, as Sweden and others have pointed out, the available evidence is that quarantines don't work.

How did he show a lack of leadership exactly? It is up to the states and local governments to make decisions on how they handle COVID not Trump. Trump did his job by shutting down borders while pelosi was telling everyone to come on down to China town.

If by shutting down borders you mean he barred foreign nationals from entering while allowing everyone else to come and go as they please with no additional screenings or quarantines put in place? sure.

And here, I suggest you actually do some research on what went on in regards to pelosi and chinatown since you seem to be parroting the lie that was spread at the time. https://www.factcheck.org/2020/04/trumps-false-claims-about-pelosi-and-chinatown/

And even after he admitted to downplaying things on tape, and later again at his press conference, you're really going to act as if he hasn't shown a lack of leadership even when his people have been caught manipulating data so he doesn't look bad?

He completely closed the Mexico and Canada borders to recreational or tourist travel. Do you really want people that aren’t naturalized citizens coming back into the country from wherever the hell they are from in the middle of a pandemic? Who exactly was allowed to come and go as they please; elaborate. As said before it was up to the states to place quarantine measures not the federal governments job.

It's up to the states, but is it then the president's job to tweet "Liberate Minnesota" and thereby encourage his supporters to undermine the quarantine?

Governors look to the president for guidance and consistent messaging in times like these. He makes governors jobs harder by encouraging his supporters to break quarantines and not wear masks.

https://mx.usembassy.gov/travel-restrictions-fact-sheet/

He didn't completely close the borders, and that did not occur until March 21st.

The link also specifies the people that were exempt from the "closure"

And it was January when he temporarily barred entry by foreign nationals who had traveled in China within the previous 14 days, with exceptions for the immediate family of U.S. citizens and permanent residents. Americans returning from China were allowed back in, people from else where were allowed back in, claiming that there were advanced screenings for travelers, but the reality was so much different.

And this discussion is specifically about February, since you're the one who brought up Pelosi and Chinatown.

But it's clear you're not actually interested in discussing this

I will admit he can be a bit to outspoken with his tweets. But not everyone has been placed under strict quarantine I know here missouri we weren’t. But let’s be real it’s ok for Democrats to promote undermining quarantines by supporting all of the mostly peaceful protests? But not ok for trump supporters to break quarantine and protest these degenerates that have protesting for months now?

Its not a lie.

Direct quotes:

"To everyone, you should come to chinatown"

"Please come and visit and enjoy Chinatown."

"We know that there is concern surrounding tourism, traveling all throughout the world, but we think it’s very safe to be in Chinatown and hope that others will come"
