We have already seen Russia stop delivieries in 2021 and 2022, only a total idiot would like to make trade deal with such an unreliable partner, who already exposed himself.
Actually it's NATO / EU continuously expanding East for decades and into Ukraine that forced Russia to stop gas deliveries. It was a clear signal that Russia was taking EU and NATO's geo-political games serious.

NEW DELHI/MOSCOW, Dec 12 (Reuters) - Russia's state oil firm Rosneft has agreed to supply nearly 500,000 barrels per day (bpd) of crude to Indian private refiner Reliance in the biggest ever energy deal between the two countries, three sources familiar with the deal said.
