Compared to its peers, Germany is in an incredibly solid fiscal position and has a lot of room for deficit spending. The big issue isn't financial breathing room but rather failing leadership which would funnel all of this spending into the wrong projects and causes.

Agreed, but if this marks the catalyst when Germany is going to start behaving 'like the rest' and have its Debt to GDP rise to lets say >100%, as a citizen i wouldn't be too happy about that. I mean, i would want to maintain what has worked for decades not go the Japan route because everyone else is doing it.

I would agree with this if we still had our own currency, but since we're tried to a bunch of bankrupts anyway, there is really no argument against making worthwhile investments into our infrastructure, technology, education system, research and so on and forth. Except that that's not what's gonna happen if the fiscal conservatives give in and raze the federal debt limit. Some 70++% of the debt-financed investment would go into consumption, NGOs, foreign aid, administrative bloat, the migrant-industrial complex and inefficient climate scams.

Is Germany ready to put wokeness into the dustbin of history though? That poll showing support for Kamala was damning and spells doom for the state, unless something changes and changes fast.

Europe seems to be more than 8 years behind America on wrangling this beast. Trump was first elected in 2016 and it took 8 brutal years of civil warfare to fix the problem. AfD hasn't even been elected into office yet!

Now, Germany is in a uniquely terrible position here - it would take admitting that the Austrian painter was right about a few things!

Kamala was a 'good' for Euros because she represents the status quo. We in the US spend the lion share on NATO, the US taxpayers are shafted with hundreds of billions in debt while Europe contributes relatively little. The other reason they prefer her is tariffs. Europe has no problem putting 100% tariffs on US car makers, making them essentially completely uncompetitive in EU while we import tariff free. Lutnick had a good take on this. It's time for equity in trade.

There is no fixing a supermajority attitude that favours a Black Panther Communist to be the head of state of their patron Empire State, the only reason being that it's the status quo and their short term local economy. They will continue wanting to exploit and leech off their patron state towards their doom.

There is NO fixing that zeitgeist without either 1) a collapse (likely) 2) Brutal civil war in which the leftists are "mowed", physically eliminating their ideas from the German populace or 3) Conquest by Russia

In North America we just finished fighting a vicious and cruel 10+ year conflict that saw most families torn apart by partisanship, divorces (resulting in single parent children - BAD), people losing their jobs & means of living, etc.

Does Germany have the will to fight their own conflict?

The problem hasn't been fixed yet, though. If Trump's 2nd term goes according to plan, then it will be fixed. But that's not a given, not at all. And to be broader point: it's not like Trump/the GOP scored some huge landslide. He won the tipping point state by 1.8%, the popular vote by some 1.5% and the GOP has lost seats in the House and will only have a tiny majority; all but guaranteed to lose control to Democrats in 2026. If Trump doesn't deliver, the triumph of 2024 will become a footnote in history.

German opinion polling on Harris vs Trump is worthless since the majority of our population have no real idea about which positions and policies these two stand for. Plus, they almost exclusively hear about US politics from German MSM, which is somehow even more in the tank for Democrats than American MSM.

That's true, but the path is now set, the first domino has now fallen. I see the JB power structure comprising the following roots:

1) Control of the Media - spread & reinforce lies
2) Control of Academia - indoctrinate the youth, whose unwitting parents place them into the maw of the beast
3) Control of Government - punish dissent with extreme prejudice, and give impunity to their supporters & human plague weapons

1) has now fallen in the USA. Media has now been routed, with the survivors scurrying to either exit or bow before the King

2) has not yet fallen. There are many avenues possible to take to dismantle this structure, which we will be witness to over the coming months and years. It will be interesting on this goes down.

3) has not yet fallen either. DOGE and January 21 should be a stake through the heart, but we have yet to see this play out, for example how many traitors the JBs still have implanted within the Republican party.

Now, in Germany, these 3 power structures remain largely intact at full strength. The media still has a tight grip over the population, evidenced again by the Kamala poll and the average opinion of a kraut on the Russia war. Germany also has the challenge of being one of (although the most influential and powerful by far) the EU member states, thus they are subject to external pressure that the USA was not (although the EU and WEF were some existing external pressures).

Germany is, I believe, destined to save Europe, not America or the UK. The UK has more or less fallen, there isn't much hope of return without external liberation. Germany on the other hand still has a chance - it'll be a long brutal civil conflict but hope remains. Germany still has time to assert itself as the moral & material leader of Europe (the EU should really be called the German Union). They can court many allies in the Eurosphere whom have moral clarity (e.g. Hungary). Germany has many young people willing to fight for their freedom & prosperity. With the global reach of X, there is hope for Germany to break free from the corrupt media's spell. It will not be easy, families will be destroyed, marriages will be destroyed, & the corrupt government will persecuted dissidents with zealous fervour.

What do you mean with "JB"?

Regarding point 2), the control of the academia: Gen Z men absolutely zoomed to the right in this US election, which is a very bullish sign. Similar story here in Germany, where the AfD was the most popular party among first-time and young voters in multiple recent state elections. Granted, those were elections in the party's strongholds, but still. I think in Thuringa, they finished on 32.8% of the overall vote, but won 35 or 37% of the voters aged 18-29. Normally, the youth vote is the most left-leaning one.

More broadly speaking, you can see the cracks in the left's cultural hegemony forming very clearly even here in Germany. Here, just like in the US, the past four years were a time when the left's policies and narratives crumbled in the face of reality and an increasing number of folks realize it.

The modal German opinion on Ukraine/Russia is that we should support Ukraine, but not ship (heavy) weapons to them or otherwise risk escalation with Russia. And the modal opinion is that while we should support Ukraine, this support shouldn't be limitless, neither in its volume nor in its timeframe. Patience is starting to wear thin on a conflict for which there is no clear strategy, exit plan or end goal. But I guess the same is true across the entire West.

Regarding German leadership in Europe: that's not gonna happen the way you describe it. The core dilemma of German and European politics for the past 130 years has always been that Germany is too weak to dominate the continent, but too strong to not play an outsized role.

No better way to win the war of ideas against Russia than by cancelling democratic elections.
