Coming from the people who masked up for 2 years, this criticism is weak.

The secret service clarified today that the gunman actually stashed his rifle at the location in advance, and that they completely failed to sweep the area for weapons/explosives/etc
hell he coulda launched an RPG from that distance and even if he missed he couldn't miss

Even if they had only graduated Secret Service 101, this attempt should not have happened.
There pretty much had to be assistance from higher levels.
