This was from 2010, but the people who have a problem with the Assange/WikiLeaks/Snowden are the same individuals who have a problem with the people knowing the truth.

It's bizarre to me that nearly 70 years after the Second Red Scare, Americans are still using Russia as a punching bag/common enemy for their own problems or political agenda.

At what point do Democrats accept the corruption of our party without blaming the boogeyman of Russia or Assange? If the DNC and Hillary Clinton weren't involved in so many damn scandals, then there would be no incriminating emails to leak.

Don't shoot the messenger.

It is hard to ignore Russia when we have had a recent war with them and lost (Georgia), they're invading their neighbors (Ukraine), and they're sheltering ISIS from attacks in the Syrian Civil War ( http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2015/10/01/444953234/syrian-opposition-says-russian-airstrikes-arent-targeting-isis ) to go after Assad's enemies instead.

We aren't using Russia as a scapegoat, they are an increasingly desperate military super power whose economy is on the brink of collapse.

And considering Putin's unwillingness to obey democratic conventions or his own Constitution, instead choosing to rewrite it to make himself Tsar, and his increasing use of military abroad to keep support throughout a deepening recession, he is someone that needs to have a close eye kept on him at all times.

Not sure if you've noticed, the Cold War is back.

The leaks so far are undamaging to HRC, but I can see why Putin wants to weaken HRC, because that means a weakened US to deal with.

I might be late to the party here, but holy shit lol:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3734124/He-founded-ISIS-Trump-claims-Obama-deserves-credit-creating-Middle-Eastern-terror-army-names-crooked-Hillary-founder.html

Obama is the founder and Hillary is the co-founder of ISIS... Despite the fact that ISIS' roots stem from Al-Qaeda and the governmental power vacuums created from the entirely unnecessary Iraq War by Bush. You could argue Obama prematurely pulled out military defense forces. But, I seem to recall everyone, left and right, liberal and conservative, demanding an exit to America's longest time table war.

Trump is just... an embarrassment at this point.

What I'm wondering is.... What do people see in Trump? What compels you to want to vote for him? I can honestly understand some answers like "He takes a stance on immigration" or "He acknowledges the horrible trade relations between the US and other countries". He has that whole bullshit head-strong, alpha male, "gonna say whatever" mindset to him. Which insecure and omega bitches gobble up.

But, I'm wondering what OTHER qualities he has that earns your vote.

Because, as of now (should never begin a sentence with "because"), I'd rather vote for a barking seal.

He's all bark and no bite. How many times can you proclaim you will have Mexico pay for a wall alonng the southern border without having any real plan on how to accomplish it? How many times can someone pompously declare they're good at something with no foundation?

"I'm good at making deals." - Trump

Well, okay, depending on who you're negotiating against.

"I'm the last person to ever, EVER, last person to ever use nuclear weapons." - Trump

Good way to lay your cards down on the table for everyone to see. I.e., inability to understand strategic leverage.

People here were just making that "HRC is responsible for ISIS" using slippery slope reasoning.

She is as responsible for ISIS as the 1998 Writers Guild of America Strike is responsible for Donald Trump's nomination to be the GOP nominee.

If the Writers Guild of America had never went on strike, the longest running television strike in history, television producers would have never understood or seen the value of reality television and how they just didn't need writing, a plot, a story, or anything else to sell ad space and retain audiences. This vapid form of entertainment lead to the success of reality game shows like "The Apprentice", where one Donald Trump made his name (and most of his imaginary fortune) and entered the public consciousness. Had the Writers Guild of America never gone on strike, the format for reality television wouldn't have launched into mainstream mass media, and Donald Trump would just be another spoiled son trying not to squander all of daddy's money.

So there, by Trumpthink The Writers Guild of America is responsible for the political rise of Donald Trump.

I'm seriously so sick of hearing about Trump already; he's a fringe candidate who stands no chance at getting the nomination. He's this year's Ron Paul (gets tons of attention on the internet but loses by a landslide).

When do you think he'll eat his words?
