such mandate, much wow

After the American Postal Workers Union pushed back against Biden's threat of a mandate for federal workers, Biden conspicuously exempted the USPS from his vaccine mandate for all federal employees. So Biden declared OSHA will issue $14,000 fines for each instance of an employer failing to prove employees are vaccinated / tested, but the 644,000 postal employees get a free pass because Biden doesn't want to rub the union the wrong way ahead of the midterm elections. A purely political decision from the guy declaring its solely about the science.

Okay, this is beyond parody. :wallbash:

We'll find out. Whether it gets struck down or not, I appreciate the effort by a president to try to get a deadly pandemic under control, especially considering it's mostly killing his political opposition. Very unifying IMO.

Schrödinger's pandemic: depending on which narrative is politically expedient at a given time, it's either disproportionately killing black and brown people or disproportionally killing white rednecks.

here’s another parody, biden acting like a tough guy now after his botched surrender in Afghanistan and disrespectful behavior towards the fallen soldiers:

https://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2021/09/09/biden_if_governors_wont_get_out_of_the_way_ill_use_my_power_as_president_to_get_them_out_of_the_way.amp.html

https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/571595-biden-vows-to-take-on-gop-governors-over-schools

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.newsweek.com/joe-biden-covid-mask-mandate-vaccines-abbott-desantis-1627742%3famp=1

more federal overreach via threatening of extortion and force, up to the point of “getting elected officials out of the way”.

Of course governors can just declare their states “sanctuary states” and get around any federal mandate or executive order. There is precedent for that anyway in spades

Now why this sudden urge to be “tough” by the harris/biden admin??? after the “mission accomplished” on covid back 4 months ago? probably because there are substantially more covid cases under their watch compared to this point last year in 2020, when there were ZERO vaccines available!!!!

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cnbc.com/amp/2021/09/03/us-heads-into-labor-day-with-covid-vaccines-but-substantially-worse-outbreak-than-last-year.html

Code
The U.S. is heading into Labor Day weekend with just over four times as many Covid-19 cases and more than twice as many hospitalizations as at this time last year — despite having vaccinated 62% of the American population with at least one dose.

reprehensible performance by the harris/biden administration

I mean... I guess he and his handlers have realized that his political capital is fading away quickly and that now is their last chance to get anything done before his brand is completely exhausted and everything in politics grinds to a halt due to the looming midterms.

Regarding the covid numbers, I'm not with you. Looking at the case numbers is obsolete in a world where everyone who is remotely at risk from covid has the chance to protect him-/her-/zheself by getting vaccinated. Generally speaking, it's too cheap and transparent to blame a covid surge which largely caused by the decisions of red state governments on Biden. God knows I'm more than willing to blast Biden, but this criticism is just too cheap...

did the red state governors tell biden to do a “mission accomplished” speech in May? should red state governors be forcing biden voter groups (minorities, recent immigrants, young people etc) to raise their vaccination numbers? isn’t that biden’s job?

it isn’t cheap at all there were ZERO vaccines at this point last year. failure to persuade is entirely on the guy who said he’d “shut down the virus” while both he and his running mate both cast their fair share of doubt of the vaccines developed during operation warp speed

funny how trump has the "respected troops" narrative after office when he straight up disrespected one of the nations most famous modern prisoners of war.

countering one soldier’s initial verbal attack on his supporters (mccain went off on a tirade early on saying anyone supporting Trump was “the crazies”) is one thing. constantly checking one’s watch while receiving the remains of dead soliders and then bringing up one’s son over and over (who died in a hospital in the US) as some sort of comparison is magnitudes more disrespectful

tough times for the harris/biden admin when two usually well-reasoned posters are snarkingly referencing someone else all to deflect from the Afghanistan disaster and the vaccine rollout/“mission accomplished” botched exercise and now the covid-mandate disaster where the federal government is threatening to “get elected officials out of the way”

disrespecting 1 dead soldier is magnitudes worse than disrespecting thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands, of prisoners or war?

not sure how the math works there...

What were Trump's exact words? Can you quote him?

Also, I find it fucking hilarious that the same people who were calling McCain all the same nonsense bullshit they called Bush and Romney and Trump are now standing on his grave shouting about how bad Trump was to him.

Get off your soapbox, nobody gives a fuck. McCain's dead. And before dying, he showed that he was indeed the disgrace Trump claimed he was by voting against the repeal of the ACA.

?? there were 11 remains brought back that biden oversaw

there was no long list of people that seemed to personalize Trump’s clumsy retort directly to Mccain. only ones who seemed to take offense were people who hate the military/our country anyway
