Well that cuts both ways, the truth is there are almost 15,000 dead in Gaza, more bombs have been dropped on Gaza in a month then the US dropped on Afghanistan in a year, and this operation shows no signs of ending. All indications suggest this is going to go on all of next year. These are also truths.
We've already discussed the 100:1 ratio in terms of deaths Gaza:Israel
On 10/7 when over a thousand Israelis died it would come as no surprise that Israel would go to war and they've had to "carefully" navigate hostages/international cries of condemnation despite the fact that this is a WAR.
How does a WAR end? When one side takes control of the other or causes the other to "give up". We all know Hamas will never give in or give up.
The best option Israel had was to eviscerate and kill 100,000 people and basically end any chance of Hamas militants being able to convert others to their cause/rebuild their forces and attack Israel again.
Because Hamas has used the Gazan citizens as "human shields" those human shields become collateral damage. Anyone whose in a fire-fight for their LIFE is going to shoot and kill anything in front of them. 3 Hamas militants hide behind 3 children/3 woman/ 3 elderly and guess what? All of them end up dead.
Because the international community gave in to HAMAS demands they are only emboldened now.
Had Israel hypothetically "dropped the big bomb" this conflict would be over "temporarily" as the new terrorist created from the deaths of civilians in Gaza.
Because the international community cried those liberal tears again a COUNTRY at WAR was given a "REPRIEVE". Israel is trying to walk a fine line when in reality they should've.
1) Attacked on 10/7 10/8 FULL FORCE/ TANKS/AIR RAIDS/GROUND TROOPS bing bang boom.
Instead the international community held them back from what they will continue to do now as they've done. A slow moving GENOCIDE.
Instead of ending it like America did in WW2 they will now fight a prolonged confict that will inevetably lead to MORE deaths then had Israel just "done the unthinkable".
Now there's an even greater chance Hamas terrorists launch an attack similar to 10/7 again.
Now there's a chance that Hamas terrorist are converting Palestinian/Gazan "men" by force or creed.
Now there's a chance that a conflict that's been going on for decades spills into a wider international conflict.
Is it terrible what's happening? 100 percent. It's disgusting but as Joseph Stalin famously quoted, "The death of one man is a tragedy, the death of millions is a statistic".
The whole idea that all the hostages would/could be saved and Israel would be able to avoid bombing "civilians" on one of the smallest strips of land on Earth is delusional and the idea that Israel should "show mercy" isn't a military strategy.
