Tell me, would you see this as outside of his character?
Trump routinely makes politically incorrect observations about obvious stuff like african countries being shitholes, and he frequently transgresses when he's insulting someone who's wronged him- like his reciprocated, clumsy attacks on John McCain
Neither would make a lick of sense here. You'd have to believe that Trump not only chose to insult the WW1 dead for no damn reason, but that he also had no idea what world war 1 is or what side the Americans fought on
which is more than far-fetched
in the old days of credible journalism with integrity, no mainstream source would
ever print an inflammatory, character attack story like this based solely on anonymous sources with zero evidence provided
nowadays its been normalized.
We've seen numerous stories like this get proven false and turn out to be complete works of fiction
We've seen some stories turn out to be confabulation, conjecture, miscommunication or exaggeration
We've seen some stories turn out to be completely true
We're given nothing more than the word of those who have zero credibility, to believe something that is not particularly believable
