Old Hindu theorists like Sri Yukteswar postulated the progression of human civilization a long time ago.
The dark ages were clearly the Kali Yuga, an era in which men care only about desire.
Currently, that would put us in the Dwapara Yuga, where dishonorable merchants rule the world. And we'd probably be here for another 2,000 years.
There were some stories of civilization at higher moral states than now that existed before the dark ages, so it's plausible.
Now is better than the dark ages so I'm not complaining right now.
The Holy Science might be an interesting book if you want to know about that.
Interesting take I personally think we are still at the end of the Kali Yuga.
I'm in total agreement on civilizations at higher moral states. Atlantis? Dwarka? Lemuria? Mu? Hibrasil? etc. etc.
The Hindus much like the Egyptians spoke constantly of the reality of a "higher human civilization" that directly impacted them in the ancient past.
The people who say they are "just stories" have never read the ancient Sanskrit that contains the highest philosophical contemplation and explanation for all things seen and unseen going back as far as 1500-6000 BCE.
How the root human language "Sanskrit" was so advanced back then should boggle the mind of any serious inquirer of a "higher truth".
You immediately are faced with a dilemma. How did "less sophisticated intellectual societies" START with the ANSWERS to the questions modern man is just NOW asking themselves.
Any logical person would say that a more advanced society GAVE them this because it's such a JUMP it would be impossible any other way.
