And the Clinton campaign was actually willing to distance themselves from him right away instead of refusing to alienate Klansmen like Trump. :(

You mean HRC didn't spend a few interviews pretending she didn't know who he was or how bad it was that he was present? how strange, i though disavowing something could only come after repeatedly denying something.

Ive been wondering. How will McMullen be on the ballots? Isnt that a rigorous process?

It can be very rigorous, it varies from state to state. Dude's going to have to fight for it. He'll have some help -- his Super PAC is run by Kahlil Byrd and Chrs Ashby, two people who have a lot of experience in dealing with campaign law and ballot access. Byrd was even the co-founder of a group in 2012 that tried to ballot access for an Indy in that election, though that fizzled largely because they had no candidate.

I think realistically he'll hope to get on the ballot in 20-25 states.

cringe worthy
...

Why do you think this matters, or that anyone should care about this? The Clinton camp can't just bar people from attending events for no reason and then expect to be taken seriously -- that's what the Trump campaign does when they bar reporters from covering their events, which is unprecedented in American political campaigns. This person didn't even do anything wrong.

And we have laws in this country that allow people to have an opinion and speak it; it's always hysterical when conservatives conveniently forget about those. A citizen having an opinion is well within his rights to come to an event that's open to the public, which is what this individual did. He wasn't invited by the campaign, and it would be completely disgusting if the Clinton campaign barred him from attending simply on the basis that he said something that they disagreed with. This is one of the (many) reasons why the Trump campaign is roundly mocked for the way they treat reporters at their events.

you actually think if a father of a mass shooter anti-gay terrorist showed up in support of Trump, that it wouldn't be all over the alphabet channels and made out into the crime of the ages

e: either way

A campaign can't just bar people from entering an event that's open to the public because they don't like what that person says and expect to maintain a shred of credibility, so no.

Who the person's son or parent is doesn't matter. That kind of gross thinking is what got Trump criticized so harshly for that disgusting "Mexican heritage" remark when he attacked Judge Curiel. We don't punish people in this country on the basis of what their ancestors may or may not have done or been, it's antithetical to what we believe. The same apples to children.

The problem your candidate has is that he has a history of encouraging violence and exciting racists and bigots so when klansmen endorse him or end up being his delegates or attend his rallies that is something to discuss

The same cannot be said about clinton and the man's personal views in this story which is why this isn't a real story
