I love this argument. By definition every BLM riot was an insurrection. Please don’t go there bro

But seriously I want you to explain what was worse. 1/6/21 or 5/29/20. We should discuss these two in comparison.

A mob, egged on by the current president, breaking into the Capitol and assaulting police to disrupt the certification of an election, is one of the best examples for what an insurrection is. It's so weird that people have to pretend otherwise.

A mostly peaceful protest, small violent elements of which were egged on by caught FBI plants such as Ray Epps you mean?

didn't know "assaulting" police disrupts any kind of certifications btw, ty for info

police that freely let people inside the building / removed barriers beforehand must have been "mentally assaulted by 5G internet" or some shit in order to do so, right ?

So the mobs egged on by the media, actually causing destruction of property and threatening the health of people, as well as politicians on the sides, for months, aren't consider the same?

Every single BLM riot is by definition an insurrection to the letter.

What was worse 1/6 or 5/29 and why?

we must not forget the 2020 left-wing "summer of love (death)" insurrection as a whole

radical democrats were trying to burn down police precincts in Portland for gods sake

Nobody who talks about 1/6 can say anything about 5/29 because it proves they 1. do not actually care and 2. they fall for fake stories pushed by nearly every media source while the truth about the event was heavily suppressed to keep them uninformed.

So, do you essentially agree with Biden's characterization that some 50% of Republican voters and some 25% of the country are a threat to democracy?

the quote i heard was "not even most of them" after "maga republicans". so that's under 50% of GOP voters. i'd say something like 10-25% of republican voters, so far less than that. as to threat that's a nuanced conversation. existential threat? no.

What definition of insurrection are you working with? I don't think most BLM riots qualify. Maybe the one where they tried to burn down that government building.

Based on that definition, how does every BLM riot qualify?

I don't know what 5/29 was.
