So the media obsesses over Trump constantly shooting himself in the foot because he's a protectionist and a bit of an isolationist? That's why Don Lemon and Maddow devote so much time to him?

Also, why do you keep pretending he's some far-out populist? He has very high approval among Republican voters, the vast majority of Republican politicians won't cross him, and he's governed like a normal Republican, absent the trade war and non-interventionism.

They obsess over him because he, first, stands against the political agendas they support, and second, because most journalists from mainstream media felt personally insulted by his 2016 triumph which was won in spite of their best efforts to write Hillary to victory.

Moreover, he has only governed like a traditional Republican in most areas because the political realities forced him to. Whenever he had the chance, he tried to enact his his populist and nationalist agenda, but he couldnt pull it off, often times because his own party refused to back these steps.

Yes, the Republican party is looking the other way to his scandals and incompetence and violations of norms - but only as long as he delivers on their (not: his) agenda. They are not looking the other way when it comes to most fields of policy.

At the moment, Trump's approval rating in fivethirtyeight's poll aggregator has hit its highest value since March 2017, one month after his inauguration:

Not true at all. He's governed like normal Republicans claim they would govern, before getting elected and doing fuck-all.

Bush cut taxes and appointed conservative judges. Jeb Bush or Marco Rubio would be governing in a very similar way, although there's some obvious exceptions(trade war, non-intervention, willingness to play hardball regarding immigration, etc).

Goggle is no one's friend.

I'm treating him like I'd treat any president. I don't excuse his behavior. I don't particularly like him like most politicians. And I, like most of america, am done with the TDS bullshit that gave us russiagate.

You better hope this Ukraine shit pans out with solid evidence. If it doesn't you're pulling people like me closer to voting for Trump simply because the alternative seems much worse.

If holding a president accountable for corrupt behavior pushes you towards that president, you were never going to vote Democrat anyway.

Besides the fact that you are wrong, I am not even arguing that you have the wrong premise but you actually have zero idea the legal prescription and/or standard.

Please go beat yourself with the stack of texts containing the law statutes you've never read in your life.

"We'll move the embassy to jerusalem", they all said.
From immigration enforcement to aggressive deregulation to actually cutting back executive overreachs to tax cuts to pipelines and eliminating the obamacare mandate and iran deal, etc etc- the trend is that Trump is actually doing things that previous presidents either promised without delivering, or if they had been in similar circumstances, would have prevaricated about and kept the status quo safe and sound. If Jeb Bush had been president, do you really think he'd have the guts to nuke the mandate or exit the iran deal or TPP or clean power plan or paris accords or tomahawk assad twice or walk into north korea or move the embassy or even appointed half the number of judges?

Ten years from now I might be telling people about how Trump turned out to be a colossal failure in retrospect as his bold moves turned out to be disastrous in the end. But one things for sure- he's been taking bold moves, and most of them reflect classical republican promises that kept getting ignored, and the rest reflect modern populist republican objectives that the naysayers doubted Trump would actually do, myself included.

"Corrupt Behavior". You could apply that same line of thought to 99% of the politicians in Washington.

You don't know me. I haven't voted for anyone because they're all trash from what I can see. You know how many people there are like me? Millions. In just my group of friends/family I'm looking at 10+ people who have the same perspective on this situation. Look around the country and you will find plenty.

Trump has had the effect of raising the level of political engagement and now what we get is: Trump is a Russian asset, Trump is running concentration camps at the border, Trump is a racist (and so are you if you agree with him on anything), and now Trump talked to another world leader about government corruption pertaining to a 2020 presidential candidate and that's corruption.

Its insane. It just looks like a 3 year temper tantrum that things didn't go their way.

The Dems could get my vote if Yang was the nominee. He at least seems to actually care about moving forward in unity.

Some of you are really embarrassing. Everyone needs to ask themselves the following: If it was someone other than Trump as President, would you react the same way?

1. He brings it on himself...

2. Yes.

3. Laws.
