In the 48 hours before he opened fire on former President Donald Trump, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks made a series of stops in and around his suburban Pittsburgh hometown.

On Friday, he went to a shooting range where he was a member, and practiced firing, a law enforcement official told CNN. The next morning, Crooks went to a Home Depot, where he bought a five-foot ladder, and a gun store, where he purchased 50 rounds of ammunition, the official said.

Then, Crooks drove his Hyundai Sonata about an hour north, joining thousands of people from around the region who flocked to Trump’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. He parked the car outside the rally, with an improvised explosive device hidden in the trunk that was wired to a transmitter he carried, the official said. Then, investigators believe, he used his newly-bought ladder to scale a nearby building, and opened fire on the former president.

As investigators continue to search for a motive behind the attempted assassination, they are scrutinizing Crooks’ movements before the attack and trying to piece together a timeline of his actions leading up to it.

Yet nearly 48 hours after the shooting, investigators are struck by the lack of leads they’re finding about Crooks’ mindset and possible motives. Even after successfully breaking into his phone and searching his computer, scouring his search history and bedroom, and interviewing his family and friends, agents still haven’t found evidence that would suggest political or ideological impetus for the shooting, law enforcement sources told CNN.

There's just not a good chance they would send a 20 year old with iron sights to take these shots that require the extreme precision/accuracy.

How he got into the position he arrived at to take the shots I have no idea that is some extreme mishandling by the SS and that is what leaves so much room for thinking this is possibly more than a young extreme idiot.

That guy on 4 chan does not seem like he's the counter sniper to me. He had another post claiming he was watching the perp fiddling with his scope and that he was fired etc but its most likely bullshit

The name doesn't show up anywhere as employed with the police or the SS

Didn't hear of him being fired

And there's no way you need approval in the secret service to fire at someone aiming a rifle towards your assignment

there are a lot of links helping to confirm that the "vulnerability" was indeed found ahead of time. although that the was only source i noticed it being "1" day prior, as of writing.
for them not have noticed this vulnerability during the earliest stages of planning, would mean they didn't plan it. or god forbid... they did.

for them not to close this vulnerability is an unacceptable thought. for them not to even monitor the "known-vulnerability"....

it's truly hard to chalk this up to incompetence at this point. it would have to mean that literally everyone involved in this detail was incompetent.

None of this is true. He spent the previous 48 hours inside a warehouse indirectly owned by the CIA, jacked up on LSD and hooked up to a shock collar, being forced to run the Trump assassination scenario in a replica mock-up of the rally location over and over and over again until his CIA handler dropped him off in Butler for the real thing.
