As an example here's a story from 3 weeks ago.

We needed to do Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) to get particle sizes of some quantum dots we synthesized. I spent a week reading all the material on DLS technique I could find and familiarizing myself with the software.

She insists on having a "DLS pow wow" where she shows the group how to use the instrument.

The FIRST THING she does is grab the DLS standard and shakes the piss out of the bottle......

Shaking your sample is the #1 thing you will read on why you get crappy data out of DLS. I told her "STOP SHAKING THAT!" and she responds by telling me "I'm sure it will be fine, don't worry" .......

That's the 5th or 6th time she's made a total amateur mistake when showing me something, except usually the end result is that it costs me a lot more time troubleshooting and reading to find what is wrong with the procedure.

No way!

I did DLS with polymers back in college too.

Do you use water samples or nonpolar solutions?

Seriously, what a scrub though.

Don't feed me this former republican bullshit jay...you want to know who else is a former republican fucking gary johnson.....go on with your witchhunt the media is on a full force assault going against anything trumps does right now. Trump could rescue 20 babies from a burning building and the media would report it as "If this was an african neighborhood trump wouldn't of helped" Bullshit BullShit BULLSHIT

I don't know what this is supposed to mean re: Johnson. Trump courts the media attention, he can't whine when he gets it. He benefited to the tune of about $3 billion worth of free media in the primary. His problem is that he hasn't realized that his "all press is good press" strategy doesn't work in the GE, and he doesn't want to adapt. That's his problem.

this is exactly what needs to be happening

I really wish kasich would have just came out against him

not doing the convention was great but I am really tired of this " we aren't ready to support him yet" nonsense that many are doing

To their credit, most of who's left of the sensible Republicans have been dribbling out in drips and drabs over to Clinton over the past 6 months: National Security Advisor Brent Scowcroft (I mean come on), Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage (of Plame Affair fame), Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson, Neocon Robert Kagan and "historian" Max Boot. And now Deputy CIA director Michael Morell, Rep. Richard Hanna, top-class operatives Sally Bradshaw (author of the party's 2012 "autopsy") and Maria Comella, and Bush senior advisor Kori Schake joined them.

If you wanted to you could probably find a new name every week of a former high-ranking Republican official or adviser who publicly repudiated Trump, and half of those people then threw in with Clinton. The electeds are different, but I know that it's because most of them are just quietly praying that Clinton throttles Trump and then their careers can proceed accordingly next year as if he never even happened.

A group of 50 former Republican top national security officials signed onto a letter arguing that Trump lacks the experience and judgment to be president, and that he would "jeopardize the nation's safety." There's some real heavy-hitters included too, mostly drawing on Cabinet officers, intelligence agents, trade reps, national security advisors, and ambassadors. This is just damning.

I won't tell you to stop because I'll admit I get a good laugh every time one of you guys repeats this ad nauseam, but you do realize that that didn't actually happen in reality, right? The whole nothingburger amounted to 3 emails: 2 of them marked in error, and the third "classified correctly but marked improperly."

Below that there were 110 that "contained information" that wasn't marked, but this is where some agencies (including the FBI) argue that the aides "should have known" was sensitive, even though, again, they weren't marked. It's this exact "But how can you expect them to know they were sensitive if they weren't or required to be marked?" conundrum that makes this entire issue nothing but a case of inter-agency squabbling. Clinton didn't mishandle classified intelligence.

Edit: Had to add that they were all former Republican officials.

Your lies are irrelevant.

If only the Republicans had the sense to fight this hard against Obama.

You can't adapt if the media continues to lie to protect their investment. Once hillary is elected I wonder how many of these network junkies will be given government titles and jobs? Seems to of worked out pretty well for the ones sucking on Obamas tit

They just wanna keep the circle jerk going.

What better way to do it than to have your own guy lose and pick the establishment candidate from the other side.

Amazing to me how much I had forgotten! When Bill Clinton was president, he allowed Hillary to assume authority over a health care reform. Even after threats and intimidation, she couldn’t even get a vote in a democratic controlled congress. This fiasco cost the American taxpayers about $13 million in cost for studies, promotion, and other efforts. Then President Clinton gave Hillary authority over selecting a female attorney general. Her first two selections were Zoe Baird and Kimba Wood – both were forced to withdraw their names from consideration. Next she chose Janet Reno – husband Bill described her selection as “my worst mistake.” Some may not remember that Reno made the decision to gas David Koresh and the Branch Davidian religious sect in Waco, Texas resulting in dozens of deaths of women and children.Husband Bill allowed Hillary to make recommendations for the head of the Civil Rights Commission. Lani Guanier was her selection. When a little probing led to the discovery of Ms. Guanier’s radical views, her name had to be withdrawn from consideration.Apparently a slow learner, husband Bill allowed Hillary to make some more recommendations. She chose former law partners Web Hubbel for the Justice Department, Vince Foster for the White House staff, and William Kennedy for the Treasury Department. Her selections went well: Hubbel went to prison, Foster (presumably) committed suicide, and Kennedy was forced to resign. Many younger votes will have no knowledge of “Travelgate.” Hillary wanted to award unfettered travel contracts to Clinton friend Harry Thompson – and the White House Travel Office refused to comply. She managed to have them reported to the FBI and fired. This ruined their reputations, cost them their jobs, and caused a thirty-six month investigation. Only one employee, Billy Dale was charged with a crime, and that of the enormous crime of mixing personal and White House funds. A jury acquitted him of any crime in less than two hours.Still not convinced of her ineptness, Hillary was allowed to recommend a close Clinton friend, Craig Livingstone, for the position of Director of White House security. When Livingstone was investigated for the improper access of about 900 FBI files of Clinton enemies (Filegate) and the widespread use of drugs by White House staff, suddenly Hillary and the president denied even knowing Livingstone, and of course, denied knowledge of drug use in the White House.Following this debacle, the FBI closed its White House Liaison Office after more than thirty years of service to seven presidents.Next, when women started coming forward with allegations of sexual harassment and rape by Bill Clinton, Hillary was put in charge of the scandal defense. Some of her more notable decisions in the debacle were:She urged her husband not to settle the Paula Jones lawsuit. After the Starr investigation they settled with Ms. Jones. She refused to release the Whitewater documents, which led to the appointment of Ken Starr as Special Prosecutor. After $80 million dollars of taxpayer money was spent, Starr's investigation led to Monica Lewinsky, which led to Bill lying about and later admitting his affairs.Hillary’s game plan resulted in Bill losing his license to practice law for 'lying under oath' to a grand jury and then his subsequent impeachment by the House of Representatives.Hillary avoided indictment for perjury and obstruction of justice during the Starr investigation by repeating, “I do not recall,” “I have no recollection,” and “I don’t know” a total of 56 times while under oath. After leaving the White House, Hillary was forced to return an estimated $200,000 in White House furniture, china, and artwork that she had stolen. Now we are exposed to the destruction of possibly incriminating emails while Hillary was Secretary of State and the “pay to play” schemes of the Clinton Foundation – we have no idea what shoe will fall next. But to her loyal fans (supporters) - I guess in her own words “what difference does it make?” I guess being a female Democrat is all that matters. By the way, I'd post the same if she were a Republican. You see, she's already been in the White House, she has a record we can review.Hillary for prison 2016 would be a good start to help make America safe again

Well I guess it's a good thing that you simply saying something is a lie doesn't just magically make it a lie, then.

It might be impossible to respond to this without dealing with the deep-seated issues like delusion, but this might be the only way:

The Republicans benefit from having an echo-chamber that they've spent 30 years cultivating in wingnut radio and Faux News. They're the only party that has a major broadcast network that serves as an arm of a political party, where the network exists solely as a delivery system for the party's talking points to its voting base. Even if the wider media was "lying" about Trump (they aren't) and were doing so to help Clinton (they aren't), Trump would still have the same exact option available to him that Mitt Romney had (and which he perfected) -- just have you, your surrogates, and your campaign go on Fox every single day, and the network will carry the water for you and regurgitate your message to your voters exactly how you want them to hear it. The same thing will be going on during drive-time on wingnut radio.

The fact that Trump can't make this work speaks to his weaknesses. He could do the exact same thing that Romney did: tell two different things to two different audiences: give his real message to the head-nodders at Fox, while going through the motions with the rest of the media. If the rest of the media caught him lying, or hit him hard with a fact check or footage of his gaffe, he'd just disengage with all of them and narrow-focus back to Fox. This was just four years ago. But Trump won't try this, he refuses to give up the attention.
