member when the media had their freakout over Trump dismissing Obama era bureaucrats after several of them used their positions to throw anti-Trump tantrums?
pretty sure I heard some of these exact same phrases;

'he won't honor the tradition of allowing old positions to hold over'
'not all in the spirit by which this Administration promised to govern'
'unity is only for those who conform'

I guess in this case I don't get what Biden's purpose in axing these mostly pointless advisory board positions are other than to take an axe into any spirit of bipartisanship. Its not like the Bush, Obama or Trump era of purges since these guys really don't do anything nor were they raising any stink. When they were laying off attorneys needed to implement policies, who either already refused to do their jobs or couldn't be trusted to do them, that made sense from a pragmatic perspective. What does Biden really gain from antagonizing some retired generals, fox news personalities and press secretaries from the former administration? Afaik Geneneral Jack Keane's big schtick is that he was trying to steer the Saudis towards nuclear energy instead of fossil fuels and negotiate with MBS to avoid nuclear weapon proliferation. So, maybe Biden doesn't support that, maybe he does. He could listen to what advisory boards have to say about it and be more informed, whether he chooses to heed their advice or not. Or he could just say "anyone who isn't 100% with me is fed into a woodchipper"

The bar was set very low for Joe Biden to succeed and instead we got a potato

Something is different about these appointees than others. I'm really struggling to put my finger on it. What could it possibly be?

Bought and paid for by China to weaken our culture, demoralize us, and weaken our infrastructure in every area. The heroes must be punished and the criminals must be rewarded until we lose faith in our own institutions, give up, and embrace our yellow overlords.

When asked if he received a similar letter, Sebastian Gorka, who was named by Trump to the National Security Education Board, only replied to a text message by saying: “Hey CuckBoy go lick some Democrat’s boots.” A former less-prominent Trump official who was named to a military academy’s board of visitors said he hadn’t received such a letter.

Their only job is to give the administration a mix of viewpoints to get suggestions from all sides, they don't have any powers or functions. Like the Naval Academy Board of Visitors is a non-salaried position that has a single meeting in person each year with members chosen by the president, VP and congress. They get reimbursed for travel to that one meeting, that's it, and they give a statement of their opinions and suggestions. If Biden's new regime decides it won't even listen to anyone who supported Trump, then so much for his spirit of unity.

I mean, these boards are intentionally set up to get a mix of viewpoints and political affiliations. You get appointees from the senate chairman of the committee on armed services, from the senate appropriations committee, from the house armed services committee, from the house appropriations committee, from the president, from the vice president, and with terms that carry over from one administration into the next, with only two chosen by the president per year. Getting a non-echo chamber is the entire point, and their entire job is to inform the president. And here's Biden saying he wants to purge all Trump supporters early.

So you support putting Antifa and terrorist sympathizers to these groups to break the echo chamber?

Didn't we just literally have a discussion about unity or lack there of and how you're upset republicans aren't embracing Biden but now are doing a 180 in a phone booth and justifying these cleansings?

If a president runs on an antifa platform and wins an election and has the support of half the country then the next president should probably listen to what antifa has to say, whether he chooses to heed any of it or not.
When a president goes out of his way to quash even the mere appearance of bipartisanship in ceremonial roles, its a pretty bad sign for the administration's supposed commitment to unity
