Biden could easily change border policy. Nobody is forcing him to specifically keep asylum seekers across the border, an act that is illegal under both U.S. and international law. Asylum seekers aren't immigrants. They voluntarily turn themselves over to the authorities to get asylum status and they are only a tiny fraction of southern border crossings.

The only conclusion on this issue is that Biden is being intentionally cruel to score political points with conservatives, since there is no practical reason once you realize how small the population of asylum seekers is.

I agree people are tired of dumpster fire politics. That's what happens when your only options are a far-right proto-fascist party and a center-right party dedicated to compromise with the far-right party.

Our politics has gone nowhere but to the right since the 70's on foreign and economic policy. Even social policy has only moved left at a rate far slower than the populace has in general.

We need a radical shift. We've tried far-right ideologies and they've failed. Politics based on fear instead of logic tend to fail.
