The country can't even get something like a decent health care system operational so unfortunately I doubt we'd see any of the aforementioned come to light or even be discussed

We already have socialized healthcare. It is already in place.
It is called Medicaid. We already pay taxes for it for those who are 65 years or older/retired.

ALL we need to do is factor the cost of extending its benefits for anyone 21 and up, and adjust the scope/scale of it to apply.

Tbh it's probably tied to #3 which is basically insurance lobbyism. Insurance companies make a ridiculous amount of money sans an established health care system like Canada and Europe therefore it's in their best interest to preserve said system.
