yes their are scientists and biologists weighing in on the argument but i dont pay that much attention to it so i dont have anything specific I can add.
some say a heartbeat is the beginning of human life others say brain waves.
why abortions after this or that many weeks?
try googling "heart beat abortion" and "brainwaves abortion".
The clinical definition of death is a lack of brain activity, not a heartbeat, so it would be disingenuous to use heartbeat as the meter for the beginning of life, especially since the "heartbeat" detected in very early stages of pregnancy isn't a formed heart, but background noise from the ultrasound itself, or "electrically-induced flickering of a portion of the fetal tissue that will become the heart as the embryo develops", according to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
https://www.factcheck.org/2019/07/when-are-heartbeats-audible-during-pregnancy/This is important, considering several states have laws banning abortions after six weeks (arguments for such laws frequently include detection of a fetal heartbeat, which isn't actually present until about 9-10 weeks), and Joni Ernst is purportedly preparing to introduce a six-week federal ban soon.
