It depends on what specific phenomenon you're talking about. My understanding that one of the mainstakes of parapsychology has been research on the Ganzfeld, which during early research was riddled with methodological errors. More recent research on the Ganzfeld is still viewed as illegitimate, and not something that major psychological associations buy into. These associations view parapsychology as, essentially, a pseudoscience.
